Position Summary

The School of Nursing at the University of Indianapolis is seeking applications for a 12-month faculty member to provide leadership and administrative oversight to the online programs beginning August 2017. In addition to being a full-time faculty member, the Online Program Director is a member of the School of Nursing leadership team with direct reporting responsibility to the Dean.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leadership regarding the overall planning, implementation, evaluation, and revision of the online RN-BSN and online MSN programs and the subsequent administrative responsibilities necessary to achieve this mission. Specific responsibility include, but are not limited to, assuming day-to-day responsibilities of the programs and their integration with the UIndy strategic plan and mission; maintaining and reporting data necessary for accreditation processes to various professional and academic organizations; assisting and coordinating student recruiting events; working closely with academic advisors regarding student recruitment, enrollment, retention, and progression initiatives; creating class schedules and securing appropriate faculty to teach online; serving as a liaison between clinical facilities and the School of Nursing for online programs; and assisting with the recruiting, evaluating, and mentoring of faculty.

Preference will be given to applicants with experiential and academic expertise in nursing academic administration. Service to the School of Nursing, UIndy, and the community as well as participation in scholarly activities and academic advisement are required. Rank and compensation is commensurate with qualifications.

Special Instructions to Applicants
Required Education/Experience/Skills (Minimum Qualifications)

A master’s of science in nursing and doctoral degree are required. Applicants must show proof of an unencumbered registered nursing license in the State of Indiana or eligibility for licensure in Indiana. Previous teaching experience in a school of nursing with experience in academic administration in nursing programs.
